I believe second chances and really good hangers

Hi, I’m Priscilla. I'm a wife, mom of four, a print shop owner, a thrift queen since childhood, and apparently someone who thought, “You know what I should do? Open a THIRD business with zero employees, all by myself, in a 6,000 sq ft building.”
The truth is this all started with a deep love for secondhand. Growing up in So-Cal, weekends meant flea markets, swap meets, and treasure hunting with my family. I was raised to spot the value in things others passed over. I didn’t realize it then, but that early love of the hunt would turn into something much bigger later in life.
Fast forward to adulthood & I'm living in Le Mars, Iowa with my husband and our four kids. I started my first business, Shop Near the Corner, printing shirts and making custom orders in a little space downtown. It was cozy. It was colorful. And it quickly got too small.
After news that I need to move out, That’s when God opened a door to a massive space right next to the ice cream parlor. I prayed on it, paced around about 1,000 times, and then said Yes. And just like that…This new business was born.
This isn't your typical thrift shop. It's a curated secondhand and consignment space where locals can rent closets by the week (yes, actual closets), set their own prices, tag their own clothes, and let me handle the rest. It's where giving things a second chance is the whole point!
Closets are restock weekly to keep it fresh.
And more than anything we believe that community matters. When you shop here, you’re not just buying a cute jacket. The real scoop is You’re supporting a local parent/family, helping someone pay a bill. But this isn’t just about clothes. It’s about community. It’s about second chances for that pair of jeans,. And it’s about creating something different for Le Mars.
From The Market in the back of the shop filled with over 50 small businesses, my original little print shop that started it all everything I do falls under one brand Shop Near the Corner.
To everyone who has shopped here, sold here, set up a booth, joined the Le Mars Citywide Rummage Sale, or simply said something kind along the way thank you. You’ve helped turn this dream into something real.
I hope when you walk into The Second Scoop, it feels like a fresh start. Because around here, we believe secondhand isn’t second best.
Because secondhand isn’t second best.
